He planted the first seeds on the slopes of Chandragiri Hills, near what is now known as Baba Budangiri, a mountain range in Chikkamagaluru.
This humble act not only sowed the seeds of Indian coffee cultivation but also wove coffee into the cultural and spiritual fabric of the region.
